Sumayyah Samaha, artiste-peintre, est née au Liban, elle vit et travaille à New York depuis le début des années 80.

Sumayyah Samaha a exposé en solo à la Heller Gallery, NY (5 Juin-18 Juillet 2024) après avoir exposé également en solo à Carten Burden Gallery, 22 Wooster Gallery, Wilmer Jennings Gallery, Kenkeleba House, Denise Bibro Fine Art, et Skoto Gallery, New York. Son travail a été largement montré au Moyen-Orient.

Sumayyah Samaha est l’une des cofondatrices de la galerie 22 Wooster Gallery, New York (1978-1988). Elle a participé à maintes table-rondes, notamment Turning Writing into Art: Artists Talk on Art, New York University’s Department of Middle Eastern Studies. Elle a bénéficié des bourses suivantes : Pollock Krasner Foundation (2016), Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation (2015). Samaha a été par 2 fois résidente à la Emily Harvey Foundation Residency, Venise, Italie.
